Press Release 3/9/16 (Kent, Connecticut)– Join us for a special workshop on Wednesday, April 13, 11:00 a.m. in the Reading Room at Kent Memorial Library. You will learn about a variety of assistive devices such as magnifiers, phone amplifiers, a vibrarting alarm clock, a smart pen and a talking watch, just to name a few.
Your instructor is Charlene Wicks from the Western CT Area Agency on Aging. She provides demonstrations on assistive technology* to people with or without disabilities She will give a 30-minute demonstration of these gadgets and what they do. She is not selling them, the purpose of this program is to make people aware that these devices are available to help in everyday living.
*Assistive Technology is any item or piece of equipment that is used to increase, maintain or improve the functional capabilities of an individual with or without disabilities in all aspects of life, including school, at work, at home or in the community.
