(Kent, Connecticut) – Spend a lovely evening at the South Kent School’s Farm on North Campus to benefit the Kent Memorial Library. This year’s annual gala and fundraiser, “Growing Our Future,” will be held on Saturday, June 23 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
The venue is the farm on the North Campus of South Kent School, 170 South Kent Road, South Kent. If you have not had the opportunity to visit this farm, here is your chance to do so while benefitting the Library! The event will include music by the Carlsons, an open bar and wonderful auction items. Taste buds will delight in a healthy assortment of country cooking from pulled pork, mac & cheese, oven-baked chicken drumsticks, caprese salad, bok choy slaw, ratatouille, corn bread, to the garden-fresh bounty table and mouth-watering desserts! Spend a lovely summer’s eve while nibbling on hearty fare and sampling wonderful wines, prosecco, spirits and cold drinks from the bars.

Be prepared to bid on silent auction treasures including vacations, fine art and local dining. Highlighting this year’s auction are: cooking class with Patsy Stroble; Bulls Bridge golf for 4; Broadway tickets; a vacation week in Aruba; fitness classes. Also available throughout the evening are chances interesting items such as restaurant gift certificates, artwork, henna, and wine baskets.
Again this year you are invited to make pre-Gala bids on any or all of the fantastic silent auction items, as well as buy chance tickets for the perennial favorite “bowl items.” To take advantage of our pre-Gala offering, you can stop by the library and view the displays, place your bids and buy your bowl tickets; or shop online http://www.kentmemoriallibrary.org/silent-auction/, call the library at 860-927-3761 and a staff member will help you make your bid or buy your tickets remotely.
Your bids and bowl tickets will be combined with those received at the Gala and the winners announced that evening. Don’t miss out on the fun! Plus you now have time to rally your friends in advance of the Gala to bid together on the trips and events designed for a group to share. And as usual, party attendees will be able to pay for admission, auction items and chances using Visa, Master Card, American Express & Discover credit cards.

Admission to the party is $75 per person or, to be a sponsor, $300 and up. (a $300 sponsorship entitles you to admission for 2.) There is no parking at the Gala site. All parking will be at South Kent School, 40 Bulls Bridge Road, South Kent. Transportation from the school to the gala site will be provided (only a 5-minute ride).
Please remember that the Library receives only 30% of its annual funding from the town of Kent! The Spring Gala is a major source of income for our amazing programs, lectures, and materials.
