Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 5:00-6:30 p.m. Lyme Disease Prevention with Amber Butler, Lead Research Associate at Western CT Health Network (WCHN). Ms. Butler will be discussing tick-borne disease prevention as well as the WCHN Lyme Disease Registry, a novel research study designed to gain a better understanding of Lyme disease and its course of symptoms.

Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 5:00-6:30 p.m. The Zika Virus and Other Current Epidemics with Dr. Gabriel Zatlin, M.D. Over the past few weeks media attention has focused on an outbreak of Zika virus in South and Central America and the Caribbean because of a concomitant increased incidence of abnormalities in newborns and symptoms of temporary paralysis (Gillian-Barre syndrome). There are concerns about traveling to these areas and whether Zika will spread to the continental U.S. Dr. Zatlin will provide current information available on these topics, including travel risks for other viruses as well such as dengue fever and chikungunya virus.
