Join John and Barry from Kent Falls Brewing Company for a tasting of their latest seasonal beers and a discussion about making beer with locally grown and malted grains. John Suscovich manages the brewery’s farm, where they raise pigs, chickens, ducks, and goats on pasture, along with managing a small hop yard for the brewery, and spent grain composting operation. Barry Labendz is the brewery’s general manager, and will be leading us through the beers, and what it means to be a farm brewery.
We’ll be tasting:
Bird Post - a 5% pale ale made with Connecticut grown whole-leaf hops.
Pause & Reflect - 5% porter made with Connecticut grown emmer and triticale
Field Beer - 5.2% saison made with Northeastern grown Endeavor barley malt and foraged yeast from our farm.
After the event, some additional Kent Falls beers will be available for you to purchase and enjoy. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Kent Library!
