GARDEN CLUB AND LIBRARY TO PRESENT KAREN BUSSOLINI
Press Release 2/20/19
(Kent, Connecticut) –When you don’t love your garden or it’s just too much work, putting your finger on what the problem might be isn’t always easy, but it’s the first step toward garden happiness. Maybe it’s bad pruning (or none at all because it’s too scary to start), site problems, awkward spaces, erosion, shade, dry or wet soil, wrong plant for the place, too few plants or too many, lack of character or color, high maintenance.
Karen Bussolini’s topic “Eco-Friendly Garden Coach Problem Solving Brainstorm” is a talk full of insight, practical advice and gorgeous photographs. Join the Kent Memorial Library and the Kent Garden Club as they welcome this widely-published garden photographer, speaker, writer, NOFA-Accredited Organic Land Care Professional and eco-friendly garden coach on Saturday, March 30, 2:00 p.m. at the Kent Town Hall, 41 Kent Green Boulevard, Kent.
Karen will get the discussion going by showing Before and After photos of gardens she worked on with homeowners in her capacity as an eco-friendly garden coach. It always helps to look at your garden with fresh eyes, so she will talk through her thought process when encountering a new property. Then we’ll look at some “Befores” for interactive brainstorming to get creative juices flowing. The session will be fun, friendly and informative – all ideas welcome.
Karen Bussolini has been a gardener as long as she can remember. She trained as a painter and had a career as an architectural photographer before turning her attention entirely to gardens. Her work explores the many ways gardening connects us to our place on earth and to each other.
She will be happy to answer questions before, during and after her talk, and to sign or inscribe copies of her books, which will be for sale (cash or check). The Homeowner’s Complete Tree and Shrub Handbook ($29.95 softcover, $39.95 hardcover, plus tax) and The Naturescaping Workbook ($24.95 plus tax).
Garden photographer, writer, speaker and Eco-friendly garden coach Karen Bussolini is a lifelong organic gardener and lover of nature.
