Poetry & Prose Workshop
We offer a Poetry & Prose Workshop on the third Saturday of the month at 10:00 a.m. to Noon in the Reading Room. The workshop is free and open to all serious poets who want to develop their work and accept meaningful critique in a small circle of area writers. This workshop is led by author/illustrator E. Barrie Kavasch, who has published four books of poetry, her most recent volume is ShamanSongs: Life ShapeShifting Into Poetry. Our seasons and years of poetry in the library continue to expand and explore new ideas. The Poetry & Prose Circle grows more intriguing as we delve into the sensory virtues of poetry and the musical cadences possible in some prose forms. Easy writing for beginners as well as seasoned poets. Bring your journal and pen and some of your recent writing and join us. We will read, critique, and inspire.
FOR ALL AGES
A monthly Chess Club meets the third Saturday afternoon of each month from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Chess continues to draw interest from all ages, and a range of talents as we continue chess play in 2015. We invite those who want to enjoy gentle chess play, as well as those who fancy more vigorous competition. All are welcomed! Chess sets are always available for play in the KML Reading Room during library hours throughout the week and when good weather, we will again enjoy chess on the fabulous outside tables in our Library Chess Court. Come join us for free and open chess play. Interested gamers should sign up at the library either in person or by phone, (860) 927-3761, or by email email@example.com.
