The Kent Memorial Library is a private library, owned and operated by the Kent Library Association (KLA), i.e., You. The Library is part of the State Library System and functions as a public library, but only receives 30% of its operating budget from public sources, the State and the Town of Kent. While the Town of Kent has no legal obligation to assist us, we are very thankful for what they do each year.
To raise the remaining 70% of our annual budget we hold various fundraisers, like the summer-long Book Sale, and, most importantly, have a membership drive each Fall asking you to join the Association or show your continued support, by making a financial contribution.
